What You'll Do11
- 1Adhere to the individualized care plan provided by the supervisor
- 2Facilitate resident moves and transfers when needed
- 3Document and report changes in resident condition using proper Extendicare tools
- 4Assist with meal preparation and nutritional planning
- 5Support mobility, ambulation, and use of adaptive aids
- 6Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to residents and families
- 7Maintain confidentiality of resident information
- 8Escalate medical emergencies to the supervisor or emergency services promptly
- 9Coordinate with external agencies to enhance resident care
- 10Participate in ongoing training and service attendance
- 11Uphold Extendicare’s values of ethics, morality, and integrity
Requirements8
- 1Graduate of a Personal Support Worker program or equivalent certificate with 600 hours of theory and practicum in Ontario or Alberta
- 2Proven experience working with seniors in community health settings
- 3Strong written and oral communication skills
- 4Demonstrated organizational and time‑management abilities
- 5Excellent interpersonal and customer‑focused communication
- 6Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification
- 7Ability to lift and transfer clients safely
- 8Valid Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one
