Housekeeping Aide (Casual Part Time)
Overview
Extendicare employs a Housekeeping Aide to maintain cleanliness in resident apartments and common areas. This role involves operating cleaning equipment and adhering to safety protocols while supporting residents' living environments.
What You'll Do11
- 1Clean areas according to assigned schedules using appropriate cleaning and sanitation methods and procedures
- 2Operate floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment
- 3Strip scrub spray and buffer all carpet and non-carpet floor surfaces
- 4Pick up garbage and transport to designated areas
- 5Adhere to residence policies including safety rules and secure working practices
- 6Prepare documentation as required according to residence policy
- 7Stay informed about resident rights and promote ethical behavior
- 8Attend mandatory in-service training and staff meetings
- 9Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- 10Maintain trust while serving vulnerable adult residents
- 11Follow Extendicare's code of conduct regarding ethics and integrity
Requirements8
- 1Strong oral and written English communication skills
- 2Ability to give daily feedback
- 3Knowledge of institutional cleaning techniques
- 4Previous experience in commercial residential or healthcare cleaning is desirable
- 5Capacity for minimal supervision
- 6Physical stamina to meet job demands
- 7Proficiency in a second language preferred
- 8Valid Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one
