Overview

You will own internal audits and compliance monitoring across WellSpace Health, the region's largest Community Health System. You will report to the Compliance Manager and evaluate contract performance, regulatory adherence, and internal controls. You will work in a FQHC and CCBHC environment accredited by Joint Commission. This role stands out by focusing on both performance metrics and audit readiness, with a path to AHC Certified Healthcare Auditor certification.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Conduct internal audits and assessments using Excel and compliance systems to evaluate regulatory, payer, and contractual compliance.
  • 2Assess operational performance against county and grant agreements, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • 3Evaluate documentation and internal controls for adherence to HIPAA and High Reliability standards.
  • 4Perform follow-up reviews to validate corrective actions from external audit findings.
  • 5Prepare objective audit workpapers and reports, presenting findings to Compliance leadership.
  • 6Collaborate with operational departments to facilitate audits while maintaining independence.
  • 7Maintain current knowledge of healthcare regulations and auditing principles, applying CCBHC and FQHC standards.
  • 8Assist with special reviews and investigations, using Microsoft Office and audit software to analyze evidence.

Requirements9

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance, auditing, or operations, with a Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • 2Experience conducting audits, compliance reviews, or monitoring activities in a healthcare setting.
  • 3AHC Certified Healthcare Auditor certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • 4Working knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and auditing principles.
  • 5Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and compliance or audit-related systems.
  • 6Strong analytical, critical thinking, and investigative skills.
  • 7Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audit reports.
  • 8Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and professionalism.
  • 9Valid driver's license and insurable driving record for travel up to 20%.
