
PCB Layout Engineer, High-Speed Server & Hardware
Overview
You will own end-to-end PCB layout for complex, high-density designs powering Meta's data center hardware. Working with Cadence Allegro 23.1+, you will handle advanced memory interfaces, PCIe, high-speed digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power domains. You will join a tight-knit hardware team focused on server and networking products. This role offers direct impact on next-generation data center infrastructure, with opportunities to drive layout strategy and mentor junior engineers.
What You'll Do8
- 1Drive full-cycle PCB layout for high-density server boards, from floorplanning to Gerber release.
- 2Route DDR4/DDR5, PCIe Gen4/5, and other high-speed interfaces with controlled impedance.
- 3Design power delivery networks for VRM and POL converters, ensuring low noise and thermal integrity.
- 4Collaborate with hardware engineers to resolve layout constraints and optimize signal integrity.
- 5Generate and review manufacturing outputs, including ODB++ and Gerber, for fabrication and assembly.
- 6Own component placement and fanout for BGA and QFN packages, balancing routability and thermal performance.
- 7Implement design rules for impedance control, crosstalk, and EMI in Cadence Allegro.
- 8Lead design reviews and drive continuous improvement of layout methodologies and library integrity.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of PCB layout experience in high-speed digital and mixed-signal design.
- 2Expert-level proficiency with Cadence Allegro 23.1 or newer, including constraint manager.
- 3Proven track record laying out complex boards with 20+ layers and high-density components.
- 4Deep understanding of high-speed interfaces: DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, SerDes, and USB.
- 5Hands-on experience with power integrity and signal integrity concepts.
- 6Ability to interpret schematic netlists and work directly with ECAD libraries.
- 7Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes: stackup, via structures, and DFM requirements.
- 8Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across hardware and mechanical teams.
