Payroll Specialist, Multi-State & Paylocity Expertise for Hybrid Seattle Role
Overview
Own payroll processing for a multi-state workforce within a hybrid Seattle environment. You will drive accurate monthly and semi-monthly payroll for around 200 employees, ensure tax compliance, and partner with HR and Finance on changes and reporting. This role offers visibility across payroll, accounting, compliance, and financial reporting and offers a contract-to-hire path.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and process monthly and semi-monthly payroll for ~200 employees across multiple states
- 2Review and post timesheets to ensure accuracy and compliance, and coordinate changes with HR
- 3Execute multiple payroll cycles on deadlines and reconcile payroll transactions
- 4Manage payroll tax compliance including 941 filings and timely tax payments
- 5Maintain and support payroll systems including tax jurisdictions and earning codes
- 6Reconcile payroll GL accounts and prepare journal entries for month-end close
- 7Prepare payroll reports, compensation analyses, and financial reporting
- 8Collaborate with Finance and HR to improve payroll processes and reporting
- 9Support year-end close activities and audits as needed
- 10Ensure records retention and regulatory compliance across payroll data
Requirements10
- 13+ years of payroll processing experience
- 2Experience processing multi-state payroll
- 3Hands-on Paylocity experience
- 4Tax compliance experience including 941 filings
- 5Deltek experience, preferably Deltek Vantagepoint
- 6General Ledger experience including reconciliations and journal entries
- 7Experience supporting month-end close activities
- 8Strong Excel skills
- 9Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- 10Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
