We seek a skilled Payroll Specialist to lead multi-state payroll for six company IDs in Boston area. This role supports HR and accounting teams by managing complex payroll processes. The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative environments and values employee impact.
What You'll Do14
- 1Process bi-weekly payroll for six company codes across Massachusetts and New Hampshire locations
- 2Audit comprehensive payroll data including commissions bonuses overtime deductions timekeeping and PTO balances
- 3Review and verify technician advisor sales and commission-based pay plans for accuracy
- 4Maintain employee records in Paylocity handling changes promotions transfers and status updates
- 5Set up accurate payroll profiles for new hires and support onboarding workflows
- 6Assign and manage document workflows for promotions transfers and other employee changes
- 7Respond to payroll inquiries while ensuring exceptional customer service
- 8Investigate payroll discrepancies and collaborate with Paylocity Support to resolve technical issues
- 9Process off-cycle payroll adjustments reversals and final paychecks for terminated staff
- 10Manage PTO accrual rollovers and calculate payouts according to company policy
- 11Create detailed payroll reports and custom spreadsheets for audits and processing needs
- 12Train managers on payroll procedures timekeeping practices and Paylocity platform utilization
- 13Lead year-end payroll initiatives including W-2 preparation and reconciliation tasks
- 14Serve as primary Paylocity expert providing guidance on payroll and HRIS operations
Requirements7
- 14 years experience processing multi-company multi-state payroll using Paylocity or similar platforms
- 2Understanding of FLSA overtime exemptions classifications and applicable employment laws
- 3Proactive problem solver who seeks solutions independently
- 4Strong Excel proficiency with meticulous attention to detail
- 5Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines simultaneously
- 6Automotive dealership payroll background preferred
- 7Experience with Paylocity system demonstrated
