Payroll Specialist 2
Overview
Payroll Specialist responsible for accurate end-to-end processing of multi-state payroll while ensuring compliance with federal state and local regulations. Manages full payroll cycle including employee data review earnings deductions auditing results resolving discrepancies and responding to inquiries. Partners with HR Finance and other teams to maintain accuracy and support employee experience.
What You'll Do11
- 1Processes bi-weekly payroll accurately and within established deadlines
- 2Reviews payroll data for accuracy completeness and compliance with company policies
- 3Audits employee timecards pay changes new hires terminations leaves of absence and other payroll transactions
- 4Processes earnings deductions reimbursements bonuses retroactive pay and adjustments
- 5Maintains and monitors payroll inbox responding to employee and manager inquiries
- 6Researches and resolves payroll discrepancies and employee questions
- 7Reviews payroll reports before finalization identifying exceptions requiring correction
- 8Processes final paychecks in accordance with applicable state laws
- 9Coordinates payroll activities with Human Resources Finance and Benefits
- 10Maintains employee payroll records and support documentation
- 11Identifies opportunities to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy
Requirements10
- 1Minimum of three years payroll administration experience with strong understanding of federal state and local payroll regulations
- 2Expertise in multistate payroll processing and regulations
- 3Strong Excel skills including formulas filtering and data validation
- 4Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- 5Excellent customer service and communication skills
- 6Experience with payroll audits and payroll reporting
- 7Experience supporting payroll system implementations or upgrades
- 8Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
- 9High school diploma or GED required
- 10Payroll Organization Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred

$81 - $97k per year
