What You'll Do9
- 1Direct self-pay collection efforts, covering early-out collections, bad debt management, and payment plan administration.
- 2Assess AI-generated patient messages, payment plan options, and self-pay resolution tactics for accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness.
- 3Build and implement collection strategies that span pre-service, point-of-service, and post-service touchpoints.
- 4Oversee payment plan enrollment, tracking, and compliance to keep patients on track and revenue flowing.
- 5Collaborate with financial counseling, billing, and bad debt recovery teams to maximize self-pay capture.
- 6Track key metrics like collection rates, payment plan conversion, bad-debt write-offs, and patient satisfaction, and use them to refine strategies.
- 7Ensure all activities comply with FDCPA, HIPAA, state collection laws, and internal financial assistance policies.
- 8Manage relationships with collection agencies and early-out vendors where applicable.
- 9Provide structured feedback on AI outputs to help train and improve AI models for patient financial services.
Requirements6
- 1At least 5 years in patient collections, self-pay revenue cycle, or patient financial services, including 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
- 2Strong working knowledge of self-pay collection workflows, FDCPA rules, and patient financial engagement best practices.
- 3Track record of running early-out and bad-debt programs, including managing outside vendors.
- 4Experience with propensity-to-pay tools and modern patient payment technology.
- 5Familiarity with EHR systems and patient collections/billing platforms.
- 6Excellent written and verbal English communication, with sharp attention to detail for catching issues in AI-generated content.
