What You'll Do9
- 1Oversee financial counseling and clearance operations, covering charity care screening, financial assistance applications, and self-pay resolution.
- 2Review AI-generated financial counseling advice, eligibility screening results, and patient communication drafts for correctness and suitability.
- 3Identify patients eligible for Medicaid, charity care, or other financial assistance programs and guide them through enrollment.
- 4Advise patients on their financial responsibilities, payment arrangements, and available support programs.
- 5Partner with social work, case management, and billing teams to resolve complex financial cases.
- 6Build and maintain standard operating procedures for pre-service financial screening and point-of-service collections.
- 7Track performance metrics such as charity care conversion rates, assistance enrollment, and point-of-service collection outcomes.
- 8Ensure adherence to 501(r) and EMTALA regulations in all financial assistance activities.
- 9Provide annotations and structured feedback on AI outputs to help improve training datasets.
Requirements7
- 1At least five years of hands-on experience in patient financial counseling, financial clearance, or self-pay revenue cycle management, including two or more years in a leadership capacity.
- 2Strong understanding of charity care programs, financial assistance eligibility, Medicaid screening, and self-pay collections.
- 3Knowledge of 501(r) regulatory requirements and hospital financial assistance policy compliance.
- 4Practical experience with point-of-service collections, payment plan administration, and patient financial advocacy.
- 5Proficiency with EHR platforms such as Epic or Cerner, plus financial assistance management tools.
- 6Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- 7Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to review financial documents and AI-generated outputs critically.
