What You'll Do9
- 1Supervise and guide A/R follow-up efforts across commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans to ensure outstanding claims are resolved quickly and accurately.
- 2Assess AI-generated follow-up suggestions, claim status responses, and payer correspondence drafts to verify their precision and usefulness.
- 3Manage claim status workflows through electronic 276/277 EDI transactions, payer portal checks, and phone-based follow-up to clear stuck claims.
- 4Organize and prioritize A/R queues based on aging categories, payer type, and claim value to maximize cash recovery.
- 5Spot and fix payment discrepancies, payer processing mistakes, and underpayments to keep revenue flowing.
- 6Track key performance indicators like days in A/R, aging buckets, collection rates, and write-off rates to identify trends and drive improvements.
- 7Build payer-specific follow-up strategies that speed up claim resolution and reduce billing delays.
- 8Stay compliant with FDCPA, HIPAA, and payer-specific timely filing rules while handling sensitive patient data.
- 9Provide structured feedback and annotations on AI outputs to help train and refine the AI models.
Requirements8
- 1At least 5 years of hands-on experience in A/R follow-up, payer collections, or revenue cycle operations, with 2+ years in a management or leadership position.
- 2Solid knowledge of claim status workflows, including EDI 276/277 transactions and payer-specific collection processes.
- 3Strong grasp of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer claims processing, payment timelines, and common reimbursement challenges.
- 4Proven ability to handle and prioritize high-volume A/R queues across multiple payers without missing deadlines.
- 5Comfort using billing systems and A/R management platforms to track and resolve claims efficiently.
- 6Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, especially when explaining complex payment issues or reviewing AI-generated content.
- 7Sharp attention to detail, with the ability to catch payment errors, discrepancies, or inconsistencies in AI-produced A/R outputs.
- 8Certifications like CRCR, CPC, or CHFP are a plus, as is experience with RCM technology platforms that include automated A/R follow-up features.
