Overview
As a Patient Care Assistant, you will own daily patient support at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a 790-bed academic medical center in Boston. You will assist with vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and documentation, reporting concerns to nurses. You will join a collaborative team of nurses and techs on an intermediate medicine unit, with a $750 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires. What You'll Do6
- 1Take vital signs, weights, heights, intakes, and outputs accurately within the set timeframe
- 2Document all care activities in the electronic medical record
- 3Assist patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- 4Help patients turn, reposition, and move between bed and wheelchair
- 5Listen to patient health concerns and report them to nursing staff
- 6Interact effectively with patients and families to ensure comfort and clarity
Requirements11
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 20-1 year experience in patient care or elder care preferred
- 3BLS certification preferred
- 4Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- 5Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician certification preferred
- 6LNA (New Hampshire) preferred
- 7Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- 8Knowledge of medical terminology
- 9Strong patient/customer service skills
- 10Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- 11Proficient in computer skills for electronic medical records
