Patient Access Representative, Pediatric Registration
Overview
You own the full patient access cycle at Shriners Children's, from appointment scheduling to insurance verification, for a network of 20+ pediatric specialty locations. You ensure every family receives swift, compassionate service, regardless of their ability to pay. What You'll Do7
- 1Process appointment requests for all outpatient types, new and established patients.
- 2Obtain patient consents and perform full registration in EPIC within the first 90 days.
- 3Verify insurance eligibility prior to patient arrival to prevent denials.
- 4Screen for uninsured status and initiate financial counseling for eligible families.
- 5Complete external applications for Medicaid and charity care programs.
- 6Coordinate with nursing and billing staff to resolve registration gaps in real time.
- 7Manage high-volume phone queues while maintaining accuracy and empathy.
Requirements7
- 11+ year experience in scheduling and registration in a healthcare setting.
- 2High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- 4Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
- 5Knowledge of HIPAA compliance in patient data handling.
- 6Familiarity with insurance verification processes and financial assessment.
- 7Ability to communicate clearly with patients and families under stress.
