PAS Specialist OHSU
Overview
The OHSU Digestive Health Center requires a PAS Specialist to deliver high level customer service and handle 70-80 daily calls. Responsibilities include triaging and documenting telephone calls, scheduling appointments, and coordinating patient access. This role differs by supporting specialized GI procedures and acting as a float for DHC specialist positions.
What You'll Do11
- 1Triages and documents telephone calls from patients including medication refills and urgent concerns
- 2Schedules basic patient appointments over the phone
- 3Processes calls professionally following DHC protocols
- 4Coordinates with schedulers and clinical teams for patient care
- 5Provides customer service to external and internal customers
- 6Returns phone messages and prepares patient information packets
- 7Directs patients to appropriate providers and manages referral processes
- 8Documents information accurately in OHSU databases and medical records
- 9Initiates authorization requests for subsequent care
- 10Verifies patient demographics insurance coverage and financial status
- 11Documents in EMR according to OHSU EPIC policy

- 1Six months of work experience in a medical office setting
- 2One year of high-volume public contact experience or OHSU Administrative Internship substitution
- 3Extremely high level of attention to detail
- 4Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 5Reliable attendance record
