Overview

This role owns patient scheduling and registration at HonorHealth's Cardiac Arrhythmia Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. You'll be the first point of contact for patients, handling appointments, insurance authorizations, and medical records. The team works Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, in a supportive nonprofit healthcare system. This position offers direct patient interaction and cross-functional clerical duties in a specialized heart care setting.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Greet patients and visitors, answer phone calls, and direct inquiries to the right staff.
  • 2Schedule initial and follow-up appointments for cardiac arrhythmia procedures, tracking no-shows and documenting in the EPIC system.
  • 3Register patients by creating electronic records, collecting signatures, and verifying insurance authorization and financial responsibility.
  • 4Obtain insurance pre-authorizations, collect co-pays, and process daily deposits and billing.
  • 5Maintain patient charts, upload scanned documents, and forward records to medical billing and records departments.
  • 6Coordinate with physicians' offices and insurance carriers to update authorization status and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • 7Generate reports and retrieve images from the PACS system, ensuring patient workflow runs smoothly.
  • 8Prepare patients for exams, transport them when needed, and assist supervisors and technologists within scope.
  • 9Monitor office supplies inventory and place orders to keep the front desk stocked.
  • 10Check email daily and relay important updates to the supervisor.

Requirements8

  • 11 year in a healthcare field with knowledge of medical terminology, or experience in scheduling or registration.
  • 22 years of healthcare experience in scheduling and registration, patient access, or outpatient medical imaging (preferred).
  • 3High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4Fingerprint Clearance Card required (or apply within 7 working days of hire).
  • 5Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification preferred.
  • 6Proficiency with scheduling software and electronic health records, including EPIC and PACS.
  • 7Ability to handle high-volume phone calls and multitask in a busy clinic environment.
  • 8Strong communication skills for patient interaction and coordination with medical staff.
