What You'll Do9
- 1Register patients at check-in, entering data into EPIC and collecting required signatures and intake forms.
- 2Verify insurance eligibility and benefits with payors, documenting coverage and obtaining pre-certifications and referrals.
- 3Calculate and collect patient liability based on insurance benefits, explaining payment policies and offering financial resources.
- 4Process payments and charges, performing daily reconciliation and balancing the cash drawer.
- 5Schedule patient appointments and procedures, optimizing reimbursement by following payor plan provisions.
- 6Confirm next-day appointments and prepare patients for their visits.
- 7Address patient concerns through phone, email, and in-person, using effective communication to maintain positive relationships.
- 8Respond to medical record requests, following policies and federal and state laws.
- 9Support clinical staff by escorting patients, taking vitals, and assisting with patient flow as needed.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 21+ years of experience in patient financial services, collections, or insurance.
- 3Ability to manage multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- 4Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- 5Proficiency with office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- 6An Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for behavioral health clinic roles.
- 7Experience with Banner Health systems and processes preferred.
- 8Previous cash collections experience preferred.
