Patient Experience Representative I- ORL
Overview
Support administrative operations to enhance patient experience at Boston Children's Hospital. Provide positive customer service while coordinating services and managing routine inquiries. Collaborate with providers to ensure smooth patient interactions and maintain accurate records.
What You'll Do15
- 1Demonstrate positive and effective customer service supporting departmental and hospital operations
- 2Respond to routine inquiries about hospital policies and procedures, escalating complex issues as needed
- 3Greet, screen, and direct patients, families, and visitors while collaborating with providers
- 4Rotate between clinic and call center functions as required
- 5Collect basic patient information such as height weight temperature and questionnaire responses in the EMR
- 6Assist with exam room preparation patient support and appointment documentation following procedures
- 7Record and process patient demographic insurance referral and clinical information entering billing data and obtaining authorizations
- 8Collect and reconcile patient payments maintaining accurate financial records
- 9Schedule patient appointments monitor daily schedules and coordinate patient flow to optimize resources
- 10Participate in shift handoffs and team huddles to support operational continuity
- 11Answer screen and route telephone calls record messages triage urgent requests and initiate emergency calls
- 12Provide administrative support including calendar management meeting coordination correspondence record management mail distribution prescription refill processing and general clerical duties
- 13Coordinate ancillary clinical and administrative services prepare standard forms and requisitions
- 14Utilize office clinical scheduling and billing systems including Microsoft Office and patient portal tools
- 15Participate in departmental initiatives focused on continuous process improvement
Requirements5
- 1High School Diploma or GED
- 2No healthcare experience required
- 3Basic customer service and computer skills
- 45+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 5Experience with Microsoft Office applications and patient portal enrollment tools
