Overview
You will run a before- and after-school enrichment program for K-6 students in Encinitas, engaging 20-30 children in academic and play-based activities. You own the daily curriculum delivery, student safety, and parent communication for Encinitas School District sites. You work in a team of educators and report to a Program Manager, with weekly check-ins and coaching. This role stands out with flexible hours (M-Th 2-6pm, F 12:30-6pm) and free childcare while you work.
What You'll Do6
- 1Deliver the daily curriculum to engage children in academic and character-building, adapting to school-day learning.
- 2Organize program materials for lessons and activities, and document attendance, incidents, and observations.
- 3Model positive guidance and classroom management to maintain safety and attention of all children.
- 4Support homework completion, lead fitness activities, and guide children at play.
- 5Communicate with children, parents, staff, and school personnel on daily updates and student progress.
- 6Meet weekly with the Program Manager to review professional progress and team accountability.
Requirements7
- 11+ year experience working with children under 13 (preferred).
- 218+ years old with high school diploma or equivalent.
- 3Complete 48 units of higher education or hold AA degree or pass a district academic assessment.
- 4Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- 5Pass LIVE Scan fingerprint, FA/CPR, Mandated Reporter training, and health certificate with negative TB test.
- 6Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
- 7Works well in a team environment.
