Paramedic Technician, Emergency Department & EMS Support
Overview
Part of the emergency department team supporting paramedic care for patients across age groups. You will work onsite at Sonoran Crossing Medical Center in Phoenix and collaborate with physicians, RNs, and PAs to deliver timely, quality care. This role focuses on direct patient care, essential monitoring, and emergency procedures within a nonprofit health system known for warmth and neighborly service. You’ll join a mission-driven culture as part of a large Arizona healthcare network.
What You'll Do10
- 1Provide direct patient care and support under supervision of licensed caregivers
- 2Perform vital signs, intake/output, ambulation, and basic procedures
- 3Initiate peripheral IVs, phlebotomy, eye irrigation, and urinary catheterization as directed
- 4Administer medications under supervision following approved lists
- 5Assist with patient transport, room turnover, and safe equipment maintenance
- 6Document patient care accurately and reinforce education for patients and families
- 7Communicate changes in patient condition to licensed caregivers and maintain medical records
- 8Answer patch nurse phone after training under licensed supervision
- 9Support department workflows and participate in quality and safety initiatives
- 10Complete required competencies and participate in ongoing training to ensure readiness
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED
- 2Graduate of an EMT-P training course approved under Arizona 9 A.A.C. 25, Articles 2, 4, and 5
- 31 year experience in emergency medical services or related field
- 4Associate Degree, Diploma, or bachelor’s degree in pre-hospital/emergency medical service (CCEMT preferred)
- 5Certified Paramedic, ADHS Paramedic Certification, or Arizona State Certified
- 6Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 7Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- 8Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- 9180 Days Required
- 10Compliance with department-specific competencies
