Emergency Department Technician Pediatrics EDT-Pediatrics at Banner Health
Overview
Own pediatric emergency care within a Level I Trauma ED serving both adult and pediatric patients. You will work with a multi professional team to support patient care in a fast paced environment across a large hospital campus. This role emphasizes hands on procedures, patient communication, and coordination with nurses and physicians. The position offers evening shifts, weekend rotation, and differential pay to recognize night and weekend work.
What You'll Do6
- 1Build patient care plans with RN and physicians for pediatric patients
- 2Assist with exams and minor procedures including lumbar punctures and suturing under physician direction
- 3Perform EKGs, vital signs, specimen collection, and point of care testing where permitted by state law
- 4Monitor supply levels, restock medications and equipment, and maintain a safe environment for patients
- 5Communicate patient status and changes to care team and document accurately in patient records
- 6Train and orient new ED Technicians and participate in department meetings and educational sessions
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 2BLS certification
- 3EMT-B or higher with state licensure or certification or CNA in state of practice
- 4Ability to perform advanced skills under delegation for adult and pediatric patients age twelve and older
- 5Basic computer skills and strong communication and problem solving abilities
