Overview
Own case management for family law and probate matters at a Best of Las Vegas firm, handling 3+ years of caseloads with minimal supervision. Work alongside two attorneys and a legal assistant, managing discovery, pleadings, and client communications. This role offers direct exposure to trial preparation and settlement negotiations, with a path to expand into estate and bankruptcy work. What You'll Do8
- 1Draft and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests in family law and probate cases.
- 2Manage case calendars and deadlines across multiple active files, ensuring compliance with court rules in Las Vegas.
- 3Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to schedule hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- 4Organize and maintain case files, evidence, and exhibit lists for trial preparation.
- 5Prepare discovery responses and review incoming documents for privileged information.
- 6Assist attorneys in preparing for trial, including drafting trial briefs and witness outlines.
- 7Handle client intake and maintain communication throughout the case lifecycle, with a focus on Spanish-speaking clients.
- 8Utilize Microsoft Office and case management software to track billable hours and case progress.
Requirements7
- 13+ years of paralegal experience in family law or probate.
- 2Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
- 3Strong knowledge of Nevada court procedures and e-filing systems.
- 4Ability to work onsite in Las Vegas with a full-time schedule.
- 5Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- 6Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
