What You'll Do9
- 1Meet with clients to assess legal issues and develop case strategy for divorce, custody, and support disputes.
- 2Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda, using LexisNexis and Westlaw for research.
- 3Argue motions in family court, including temporary orders and evidentiary hearings.
- 4Conduct and defend depositions in family law litigation.
- 5Participate in settlement conferences and mediations to negotiate favorable outcomes.
- 6Manage case files, track deadlines, and communicate with clients and opposing counsel.
- 7Handle disclosure and discovery independently, including drafting discovery requests and responses.
- 8Meet a baseline of 1,250 billable hours per year while maintaining high-quality work.
- 9Collaborate with senior attorneys on appellate matters, including drafting briefs and preparing for oral argument.
Requirements9
- 1Active Arizona law license in good standing.
- 22-5 years of experience handling family law matters.
- 3Strong foundation in family law, including Arizona Revised Statutes and local court rules.
- 4Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective case strategies.
- 5Experience drafting and arguing motions in family court.
- 6Familiarity with conducting and defending depositions in litigation contexts.
- 7Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- 8Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
