As an Overnight Meat Clerk at BJ's Wholesale Club, you will own the receiving, rotation, wrapping, and merchandising of fresh and processed meats in a high-volume warehouse club. What You'll Do9
- 1Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the cooler and freezer, inspecting deliveries against BJ's quality standards.
- 2Wrap, weigh, label, and merchandise cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, including grinding hamburger meat as needed.
- 3Rotate stock by expiration dates to minimize shrink and ensure freshness for members.
- 4Assist the meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood during peak production.
- 5Maintain full, clean, and visually appealing display cases for meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese.
- 6Clean and sanitize all equipment, fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including coolers and freezers.
- 7Answer member questions about meat products, recommend selections, and resolve concerns with GOLD Member Standards.
- 8Follow disposal procedures for damaged or expired items, documenting waste accurately.
- 9Support other departments as assigned, cross-training in deli or bakery when needed.
Requirements9
- 118+ years of age.
- 21+ year prior experience in a meat or deli department (preferred).
- 3Knowledge of automatic wrapping machines and hand wrapping techniques (preferred).
- 4Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and over 30 pounds with assistance.
- 5Capacity to stand, bend, reach, and stoop for extended periods on hard surfaces.
- 6Comfort working in refrigerated and freezer environments with occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
- 7Availability for overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- 8Strong attention to detail for accurate rotation and labeling.
- 9Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
