Overview
You will operate a forklift to move merchandise and materials across our Columbus club, unloading delivery trucks and stocking shelves overnight. You'll join a team of 30,000+ members supporting BJ's Wholesale Club's purpose of helping families save. This role offers weekly pay, free memberships, and paid time off, with room to grow.
What You'll Do9
- 1Operate a forklift safely to load and unload delivery trucks each night.
- 2Inspect forklifts before use and follow established safety standards.
- 3Accurately receive incoming merchandise, lifting and reserving pallets to overhead steel and the sales floor.
- 4Prepare pallets by wrapping, strapping, stacking, and labeling, correcting broken pallets as needed.
- 5Transport merchandise, materials, and pallets throughout the club using a pallet jack.
- 6Stock and rotate general and food merchandise, ensuring shelves are fully stocked.
- 7Handle damaged and spoiled merchandise per company policy.
- 8Maintain club cleanliness by removing trash and cardboard, and participate in daily openings and closings.
- 9Greet members and provide prompt service, assisting them in locating merchandise.
Requirements6
- 1At least 18 years of age.
- 2Prior forklift operating experience preferred but not required.
- 3Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
- 4Ability to stand and move continuously on hard surfaces, with frequent bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
- 5Frequently lift objects up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift heavier or awkward objects with assistance.
- 6Comfortable working around moving machinery and loud equipment, with occasional exposure to temperature extremes in freezer or cooler units.
