Outside Machinist Journeyman - Electromechanical Repair Specialist
Overview
We seek a skilled Outside Machinist Journeyman to lead complex repair projects at our San Diego facility. The ideal candidate will own the installation and maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary systems without supervision. What You'll Do6
- 1Install and maintain propulsion systems including steam gas turbine and diesel engines
- 2Repair and overhaul auxiliary systems such as rudders steering gear elevators and deck equipment
- 3Disassemble and inspect outboard motors replacing components like gears magneto points piston rings and spark plugs
- 4Test equipment to verify compliance with 4E specifications using reference drawings and technical manuals
- 5Install and calibrate shop machinery while adhering to precision measurement standards
- 6Perform diagnostic analysis and implement corrective actions for electrical mechanical defects
Requirements5
- 1Minimum 5 years of marine shipyard experience with preference for hydraulic or refrigeration specialization
- 2Age requirement 18 years or older
- 3Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
- 4Ability to relocate to San Diego 92113 prior to employment start
- 5Experience with Spark Plug replacement and marine electrical systems
