Shipboard Electrician -- AC/DC Systems Specialist

What You'll Do12
- 1Walk through medium-sized passenger vessels to review drawings and plan cable tray routes
- 2Pull new conductors and mount controllers while verifying circuit continuity
- 3Troubleshoot 480V three-phase motor issues and validate electrohydraulic steering controls
- 4Document results to maintain project schedules
- 5Interpret electrical drawings and schematics to plan system layouts
- 6Install shipboard wiring and related components
- 7Lay out wireways and establish hanger locations
- 8Test equipment for continuity current voltage and resistance
- 9Service and install motors generators and industrial storage batteries
- 10Maintain electrical controls for hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- 11Install and calibrate electrohydraulic steering control systems
- 12Apply marine electrical principles to diagnose and correct faults
Requirements13
- 1Proven ability to read specifications and understand drawings
- 2Knowledge of shipyard safety practices and vessel terminology
- 3Comfortable working in confined spaces and varying weather conditions
- 4Competent with basic math
- 5High school diploma or equivalent
- 63+ years as a General Maintenance Worker with marine electrical experience
- 72–3 years working on electrical systems
- 8Valid Washington State driver’s license
- 9WA 01 Journeyman Electrical Card
- 10Familiarity with NAVSEA Standards
- 11OSHA 10 certification
- 12NFPA 70E training
- 13IEEE 45 knowledge
