Electrical Engineering Technician, DAS Support
Overview
You will support the Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) Engineering Team by operating, maintaining, and installing DAS programs across multiple vessel classes. Your work spans the full lifecycle from pre-installation planning to field troubleshooting, ensuring mission-critical systems stay operational. You will collaborate with engineers on schematics and wiring, and own the physical installation of electrical equipment in shipyard and industrial settings. This onsite role in Philadelphia offers direct impact on U.S. Navy readiness and a path for technical growth.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and maintain DAS components, including electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems.
- 2Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment faults, calibrating and adjusting systems to specification.
- 3Review and redline schematics and engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- 4Operate test equipment to validate system performance and document results in required formats.
- 5Perform terminations, run wiring, and install conduit for DAS installations.
- 6Conduct calibration and alignment checks, making adjustments and replacements as directed.
- 7Identify and report abnormal conditions, recommending improvements to the DAS Engineering Team.
- 8Lift and transport heavy equipment, working on ladders and in confined spaces aboard ships.
Requirements7
- 13+ years experience in electrical or electronic systems, or an AA/technical degree with 1+ year experience.
- 2Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one prior to start.
- 3Comfortable working with Low Voltage and Medium Voltage switchboards, generators, transformers, and load centers.
- 4Ability to lift at least 30 lbs and transport heavy equipment.
- 5Ability to work on ladders, aboard ships, in shipyards, and in confined spaces.
- 6Proficiency in reading and redlining engineering drawings and schematics.
- 7Experience with test equipment, calibration, and troubleshooting techniques.
