Overview
You will own lifecycle technical sustainment for Energetic Fuel Detection Systems supporting the U.S. Navy, keeping specialized sensors mission-ready across naval and joint platforms. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair fielded detection systems using spectrometry and photoionization techniques. You will draft technical manuals, SOPs, and engineering change proposals, and test systems with inert simulants. What You'll Do8
- 1Troubleshoot and repair fielded Energetic Fuel Detection Systems within the first 90 days, restoring sensor accuracy and reliability.
- 2Lead calibration efforts for detection systems using spectrometry and photoionization, ensuring precision in field conditions.
- 3Draft and update technical manuals, SOPs, and maintenance guidelines for detection equipment.
- 4Conduct validation tests using inert and synthetic energetic simulants, meeting DoW and NAVSEA safety standards.
- 5Translate operational feedback into engineering change proposals to improve sensor performance.
- 6Support fleet or unit-level training on fielded detection equipment.
- 7Maintain lifecycle documentation, including maintenance requirement cards and ECPs.
- 8Interpret sensor data to detect airborne volatile compounds, ensuring operational readiness.
Requirements9
- 15+ years as a technician supporting fielded detection, sensor, or instrumentation systems, including calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and lifecycle sustainment.
- 2Experience performing ISEA, ILS, or PHS&T functions for a DoW fielded system.
- 3Experience with data acquisition software for sensor calibration and field diagnostics.
- 4Experience drafting or reviewing technical manuals, SOPs, maintenance requirement cards, or engineering change proposals.
- 5Experience conducting or supporting fleet or unit-level training on fielded detection equipment.
- 6Knowledge of explosives safety standards, including DoW and NAVSEA requirements.
- 7Ability to use and interpret spectrometry and photoionization techniques for detecting airborne volatile compounds.
- 8Secret clearance required.
- 9HS diploma or GED.
