Outpatient Therapist, Mental Health Services & Family Therapy
Overview
Owns delivering psychotherapy services to individuals and families at scale within inpatient and outpatient settings. The role requires coordinating treatment plans, conducting assessments, and collaborating with the treatment team to ensure patient safety and effective discharge planning. This position emphasizes empathetic patient care and professional conduct in a behavioral health hospital environment. You will join a multidisciplinary team focused on behavioral health outcomes and education of staff on crisis intervention.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and deliver individual, group, and family therapy to support treatment plans
- 2Design psychosocial assessments and initial discharge plans to align with patient needs
- 3Maintain accurate documentation of services and revise plans as needed
- 4Coordinate case management, discharge planning, and aftercare planning
- 5Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with staff to facilitate patient progress
- 6Provide training on behavior management and crisis intervention to clinical staff
- 7Coordinate clinical, psychosocial, or educational activities with families
- 8Evaluate referrals to other programs or facilities as part of comprehensive care
- 9Assist in training of new clinical staff and interns
- 10Acknowledge and address patient safety concerns and respond to complaints promptly
Requirements5
- 1Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field
- 2Four or more years’ experience as a therapist with two or more years’ experience with the facility's population
- 3State or national licensure for professional therapy providers
- 4CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification
- 5First aid may be required depending on state or facility requirements
