Operations Manager, Label Division & Manufacturing Leadership
Overview
Operations Manager responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and continuous improvement of all label manufacturing operations at the Charlotte facility. Own safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency across printing, finishing, shrink sleeve converting, and folded literature production. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Prepress, and Supply Chain to meet customer expectations and drive profitable growth. This role blends hands-on leadership with cross-functional partnership to optimize production processes and equipment utilization at scale.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead daily operations across printing, finishing, shrink sleeve production, and folded literature to meet safety, cost, and quality goals
- 2Manage production supervisors and staff across shifts and ensure on-time delivery and performance metrics
- 3Establish and optimize production schedules with scheduling teams to meet customer commitments
- 4Oversee narrow web flexographic and digital printing operations including highly embellished PS and shrink sleeve labels
- 5Direct finishing operations including slitting, inspection, rewinding, and packaging
- 6Oversee shrink sleeve converting processes including seaming, inspection, and finishing in a high-speed environment
- 7Monitor throughput, changeover efficiency, and equipment uptime to maximize productivity
- 8Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications and support GMP/regulatory requirements when applicable
- 9Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement through coaching and development
- 10Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Prepress, Engineering, and Maintenance to launch products smoothly and maximize uptime
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred
- 27–10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in labels, packaging, or printing environments
- 3Demonstrated experience managing flexographic printing operations and HP and ABG digital label platforms
- 4Experience with shrink sleeve converting and finishing processes
- 5Experience with folded literature or insert production preferred
- 6Prior leadership of multi-shift manufacturing operations
- 7Strong understanding of narrow web flexographic printing, digital label printing, finishing equipment, shrinking sleeve converting, and folded literature production
- 8Experience using ERP systems to analyze data and monitor production performance
- 9Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- 10Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
