What You'll Do6

  • 1Provide direct clinical pharmacy services to oncology patients in the outpatient setting.
  • 2Ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of chemotherapy and supportive medications.
  • 3Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to treatment planning.
  • 4Serve as a resource to the pharmacy team and the broader clinical team.
  • 5Educate and mentor pharmacy staff, students, and residents.
  • 6Support protocol development, formulary management, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • 2Texas Pharmacist License or eligibility (must be obtained within 90 days)
  • 3Texas Pharmacist Preceptor Certification (within 90 days)
  • 4ACPE IV Sterile Certification
  • 5Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification (or obtain within 18 months and maintain thereafter)
  • 6BLS Certification – American Heart Association (within 90 days)
  • 7ACLS Certification – American Heart Association (within 6 months)
  • 8Completion of PGY1 and PGY2 ASHP-accredited residency programs in Oncology OR PGY1 plus 3 years of progressive oncology clinical practice
