What You'll Do10
- 1Drive the oil change process: pull cars into the bay, drain old oil, replace filters, and refill with correct motor oil for each vehicle.
- 2Complete 10-15 vehicles per shift, keeping cycle time under 15 minutes without cutting corners.
- 3Inspect tires, belts, hoses, and fluid levels, and flag issues to customers or the service writer.
- 4Operate shop equipment including lifts, oil drain systems, and torque wrenches safely.
- 5Maintain a clean bay: sweep floors, dispose of used oil and filters per environmental regulations, and stock supplies.
- 6Perform state inspections on vehicles once you hold the Texas State Inspection License.
- 7Document each service in the computer system and confirm customer satisfaction before release.
- 8Work weekends and peak hours to cover customer demand, collaborating with the front counter team.
- 9Learn and apply Grease Monkey procedures for upselling recommended services like air filter replacements or wiper blades.
- 10Back up the front desk occasionally: check in customers, handle payments, and schedule return visits.
Requirements10
- 11+ years of automotive service experience, preferably with oil changes or lube services.
- 2Valid Texas State Inspection License preferred but not required (company pays for it).
- 3Ability to work in person at 10527 Huffmeister Rd, Houston, TX 77065.
- 4Full-time availability including weekends.
- 5Comfortable standing for 8-hour shifts and lifting up to 50 pounds.
