Occupational Therapist, Inpatient Acute Care
Overview
Own occupational therapy evaluation and treatment for a diverse adult and pediatric population at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, a nationally recognized academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center. You will join an elite rehabilitation team serving a high-volume caseload in acute care, including level 3 NICU, liver/heart transplant, and multi-specialty units. This full-time role at BUMCP includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus and access to benefits. You will grow as a multi-faceted practitioner with exposure to complex medical cases and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
What You'll Do8
- 1Evaluate functional abilities and limitations, determine intervention needs, and establish a plan of care with measurable goals within department timelines.
- 2Implement individualized treatment plans considering physical, social, spiritual, cultural, educational, and age-specific needs, adjusting as needed.
- 3Document evaluations, progress, and treatment techniques per department and regulatory standards, ensuring timely and legible records.
- 4Communicate evaluation results and patient progress to physicians, nurses, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- 5Adapt to caseload, scheduling, and staffing shifts, assisting in other patient care areas as needed.
- 6Direct and delegate to COTA and technicians per policies and participate in training and orientation of new personnel.
- 7Drive department process improvements and meet productivity standards.
- 8Collaborate with physician offices and external agencies to report or clarify patient information.
Requirements7
- 1Must have successfully completed an accredited occupational therapy educational program.
- 2Must possess a current Occupational Therapy license from the state of practice.
- 3BLS certification required.
- 4Demonstrate clinical competency, experience, training, and education through interview process.
- 5Ability to become proficient with computer software applications used in automated patient care environment.
- 6For Banner Home Care AZ, must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire and maintain it.
- 7Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
