Nurse Practitioner Acute Care, Heart Center
Overview
You will own acute care for pediatric cardiology and CTICU patients at a top-tier children's hospital, managing complex cases and driving outcomes. You'll rotate between inpatient Cardiology and CTICU, working 1.0 FTE with rotating day/night shifts, every third weekend, and holiday rotation. The role includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and requires Acute Care certification. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, leveraging EPIC for documentation and Evidence-Based Practice to shape care protocols. What You'll Do8
- 1Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care in the Cardiology and CTICU units, documenting and communicating clearly in written and verbal forms.
- 2Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per established guidelines, ensuring high-quality care for acute pediatric patients.
- 3Serve as a clinical expert on Evidence-Based Practice for policies, procedures, documentation, and skills, improving standards across the unit.
- 4Assist in educating and training new and existing staff, sharing expertise in acute care and cardiac conditions.
- 5Engage in quality improvement by collecting data, auditing, and participating in unit initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- 6Utilize EPIC and informatics tools to optimize clinical workflows and healthcare outcomes.
- 7Commit to continued professional development and contribute to division goals and the Hospital Strategic Plan.
- 8Rotate between inpatient Cardiology and CTICU, managing a diverse patient population with complex acute care needs.
Requirements5
- 1Master of Science degree in Nursing or equivalent provision, required.
- 2Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Ohio, required.
- 3Maintain national certification as APRN in acute care or appropriate population focus, or PA certification, required.
- 4Able to work 1.0 FTE with rotating day/night shifts, every third weekend, and holiday rotation.
- 5Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, push/pull up to 100 lbs with assistance, and perform frequent standing, walking, and repetitive hand/arm use.
