Overview
You run MRI and fMRI scans for the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in Rockville, MD. You own participant screening, consent, and scan coordination for healthy volunteers and patients. You work alongside clinical and neuroimaging teams to manage data flow, quality control, and documentation. This role anchors research support, connecting protocol design with real-time scanning operations. You also handle backup scan support and equipment-specific tasks.
What You'll Do9
- 1Operate MRI scanners for research protocols, covering healthy controls and patient populations.
- 2Screen participants for MRI/fMRI/MEG contraindications using structured tools and semi-structured interviews.
- 3Lead data collection, analysis, and quality control for fMRI and MRI datasets.
- 4Manage research data pipelines, including storage, transfer, backup, and documentation.
- 5Coordinate participant consent, scheduling, and fMRI and MEG scan sessions.
- 6Bridge clinical and neuroimaging teams, translating protocol requirements into scan procedures.
- 7Document protocols, reports, and records; support regulatory and safety compliance.
- 8Provide backup MRI scan support and assist with protocol-specific equipment and tasks.
- 9Train new staff and present updates in research meetings.
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor's degree in a health or medical field, such as nursing, psychology, or radiology.
- 22+ years in clinical research or clinical trials, including hands-on MRI or neuroimaging work.
- 3Experience with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and elderly populations.
- 4Experience running MRI research protocols, including participant screening and data management.
- 5Strong grasp of SCID or K-SADS interviews for psychiatric assessment.
- 6Advanced organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
- 7Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
