Overview

The Network Relations Manager owns the agency experience for a portfolio of 60-100 partner organizations, ensuring they receive food that matches their community's needs across City Harvest's 100-million-pound annual distribution. This role sits at the center of daily food movement, coordinating deliveries, troubleshooting issues, and connecting agencies to donors. Working with operations and program teams, the manager acts as an internal advocate for the network, using data to drive improvements. The position reports to the Director of Network Engagement and requires frequent travel across the five boroughs.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Serve as the primary account manager for 60-100 agencies, understanding their needs and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely, fitting food delivery.
  • 2Coordinate daily food movement by entering delivery requests and modifications into the CRM system, and follow up with operations to resolve issues.
  • 3Manage strategic placement of ad hoc food and non-food donations, matching them to agencies based on need and capacity.
  • 4Monitor feedback forms and route data to identify trends, propose solutions, and improve service efficiency.
  • 5Ensure agency compliance with contracts and site visits, creating action plans and timelines for corrective actions.
  • 6Track quarterly targets and adjust delivery schedules with operations teams to meet agency demand.
  • 7Advocate for the network internally by providing data on agency needs and reporting trends in meetings.
  • 8Collaborate with colleagues to offer capacity-building and programmatic opportunities to agencies.
  • 9Conduct in-person site visits to all portfolio agencies, verifying safe and efficient food service.

Requirements10

  • 14-5 years of relevant work experience in nonprofit operations, account management, or food systems.
  • 2Solid understanding of the emergency food network and food insecurity in New York City.
  • 3Knowledge of food safety, storage, and distribution practices, including ServSafe principles.
  • 4Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with diverse groups.
  • 5High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort learning new systems like CRM software.
  • 6Detail-oriented and organized, handling multiple tasks independently or as part of a team.
  • 7Proven problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • 8Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with rapid change.
  • 9Bilingual in Spanish or other languages is a plus.
  • 10Willingness to travel via car or public transit throughout NYC and work occasional evenings or weekends.
