Overview
As a Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you'll own the merchandising and freight processing for a high-volume retail store, ensuring shelves stay stocked and customers find what they need. You'll work alongside the Store Manager to lead a team of associates, handle DSD receipts, and execute Sales Planners. This role combines operational leadership with hands-on store upkeep, from unloading trucks to maintaining safety standards. What You'll Do10
- 1Lead the daily processing of freight deliveries, including DSD merchandise, from unloading to stocking shelves
- 2Execute all corporate directives such as Pull and Hold, Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey requests
- 3Maintain store cleanliness and organization across the sales floor and stockroom, including restrooms and trash
- 4Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners and manage Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items
- 5Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- 6Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, to meet productivity standards
- 7Perform opening and closing procedures, safeguarding store cash and company assets
- 8Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective, adjusting displays and product placement to drive revenue
- 9Supervise associates in the store manager's absence, fostering a positive, safe, and respectful environment
- 10Keep the store clean by sweeping, mopping, and restocking bathrooms, plus taking out trash
Requirements8
- 1Prior retail and management experience preferred
- 2Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
- 3Able to lift 30-50 lbs from floor to above shoulder height and meet physical demands like walking, standing, stooping, and kneeling
- 4Ability to work in a high-energy team environment
- 5Flexibility to work varied shifts, including openings and closings
- 6High school diploma or equivalent
- 7Proficiency with inventory systems and point-of-sale software
- 8Must pass a background check
