
Membership Specialist, Banking & Customer Service Excellence
Overview
Membership Specialist at System One will own end-to-end member service processes at scale within a high-volume environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to handle member inquiries, open and manage accounts, and ensure regulatory alignment. You will be part of a collaborative team focused on accuracy, security, and timely delivery of member services. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to influence member experience and learn banking operations across multiple channels.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and process service requests across phone, LiveAssist, and Online Comms to drive accurate and timely member outcomes
- 2Review inquiries and resolve issues with attention to compliance and field of membership guidelines
- 3Open and maintain accounts including Share Savings, Custodial, and Association/Memorial accounts
- 4Maintain member relations by updating records for Joint Owners, Sponsorships, Related Members, and Authorized Signers
- 5Communicate with applicants to complete incomplete applications and resolve documentation gaps
- 6Coordinate with security to detect potentially fraudulent activity and document compromised accounts
- 7Perform manual adjustments to personal and commercial records including tax reporting data
- 8Serve as POC for Escheatment, coordinate account actions, closures, and payments
- 9Process regulatory notices ensuring IRS-related requirements are met
- 10Provide guidance and training to less tenured specialists and support leadership communications

- 2Strong interpersonal skills for escalated or difficult situations
- 3Ability to work with diverse customers and handle multiple tasks with high accuracy
- 4Proficiency navigating multiple screens and PC applications and adapting to new technologies
- 5Demonstrated relationship-building through trust, diplomacy, and tact
- 6Advanced listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- 7Strong organizational and time management abilities
- 8Experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments preferred
- 9Experience in member/customer service in call center, retail banking, or financial institution preferred
- 10Experience leading projects or initiatives of small to medium scope and mentoring others
