What You'll Do13
- 1Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient’s medical record prior to the appointment with recent test results and correspondence and determine needed services by conferring with the provider
- 2Complete pre-charting of all value-based pieces up to five days prior to patient’s appointment
- 3Send messages to the Care Team when warranted
- 4Prepare patients for examination and escort them into the exam room including height weight and vital signs updates medication lists allergy records and personal history
- 5Maintain clean exam rooms and manage clinical supplies while ensuring proper sterilization of instruments
- 6Administer injections or immunizations according to state regulations
- 7Coordinate communication with providers regarding hospital discharge emergency department visits and specialist appointments
- 8Participate in department activities and resolve identified problems as part of a team
- 9Analyze current procedures to drive improvements
- 10Dispose of bio-hazardous waste and regular waste following practice protocols
- 11Track vaccine temperature logs maintain inventory and order medical supplies while stocking rooms to set par levels
- 12Perform administrative tasks such as check-in and check-out opening and closing office procedures
- 13Propose suggestions for process enhancements to practice managers and providers
Requirements9
- 1High School degree or equivalent required
- 2One year of clinical experience or graduation from a Medical Assistant program
- 3Two years of experience in a similar healthcare setting preferred
- 4Strong customer service skills valued
- 5Current or recently obtained BLS CPR certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- 6Completion of a 30/60/90 day onboarding checklist for new or transferred employees
- 7Ability to sit stand and walk for extended periods
- 8Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and pushing wheelchairs weighing up to 325 pounds
- 9Education and training documentation must be provided upon request
