Mechanical Field Service Technician, HVAC & Equipment Installation
Overview
Mechanical Field Service & Installation Technician responsible for installing commercial dishwashing and sanitation equipment across Indianapolis. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and set up equipment, training restaurant staff on operation and basic care. This role blends hands-on mechanical work with customer interaction and on-site problem solving. You’ll join a team that trains you on Auto-Chlor equipment and supports career growth.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and install commercial dishwashing equipment at customer locations
- 2Assemble and connect mechanical components and plumbing and basic electrical connections
- 3Diagnose and troubleshoot installation issues to ensure proper operation
- 4Test equipment and verify operation after installations
- 5Work independently in the field and communicate with customers throughout the process
- 6Train restaurant staff on equipment operation and basic cleaning and preventive care
- 7Replace or repair faulty components as needed
- 8Collaborate with service teams to schedule follow-up maintenance and support
- 9Maintain accurate installation documentation and safety compliance
- 10Handle on-site measurements and assess environments to determine best solutions
Requirements10
- 15+ years of hands-on mechanical or field service experience
- 2Experience with HVAC, plumbing, appliances, or mechanical equipment
- 3Comfort using hand and power tools and working in restaurant/commercial kitchen environments
- 4Ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs
- 5Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years
- 6Willingness to participate in on-call rotation approximately every 7–8 weeks
- 7Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- 8Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- 9Commitment to learning new equipment and processes
- 10Must be able to pass background and safety checks
