Mechanical Engineer, Valve Automation
Overview
Design and deliver valve automation solutions. Lead mounting kit creation for control valves and automation hardware. Partner with engineering and field service teams to improve reliability across oil & gas petrochemical power generation and industrial processing sectors. Drive process improvements and maintain engineering libraries.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and develop mounting kits for control valves and automated assemblies
- 2Create CAD models fabrication drawings schematics and technical documentation
- 3Integrate digital positioners switch boxes solenoids lockup valves and pneumatic accessories
- 4Analyze field measurements and develop customized mounting solutions
- 5Organize field service implementation of mounting processes and create installation instructions
- 6Collaborate with suppliers and internal manufacturing on make versus buy decisions
- 7Maintain engineering libraries drawings mounting redesigns BOMs and configuration documentation
- 8Support troubleshooting field assessments and customer facing technical solutions
- 9Participate in site assessments and customer turn around support
- 10Provide technical assistance for sales and internal roles regarding valve accessories and mountings
- 11Work across global Flowserve locations on mounting solutions
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 23-5 years experience with digital positioners control valves valve automation actuators accessories or industrial mechanical systems
- 3Strong CAD proficiency SolidWorks preferred
- 4Ability to produce engineering drawings and technical documentation including GD&T standards
- 5Understanding of pneumatic systems control valves or automation packages
- 6Effective communication and cross functional collaboration abilities
- 7Control valve or valve automation industry background
- 8Exposure to instrumentation or automation engineering
- 9FEA knowledge preferred
- 10ERP experience Oracle preferred
- 11Proven field installation and customer application support
