Mechanical Engineer - FusionICS
Overview
FusionICS seeks a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to lead secure facility design and construction in the Washington DC area. The engineer will own mechanical system design and provide technical oversight for classified federal projects. What You'll Do10
- 1Develop comprehensive mechanical system designs including HVAC hydronic piping ductwork and plumbing for secure federal facilities
- 2Ensure full compliance with UFC ASHRAE IPC DoD and local building codes
- 3Prepare and review detailed construction drawings specifications and load calculations
- 4Perform system sizing energy efficiency evaluations and coordinate with cross-functional teams
- 5Conduct field inspections oversee installations and support commissioning activities
- 6Maintain secure handling of project documentation per CUI/ICD-705 requirements
- 7Lead engineering reviews of contractor submissions RFIs and shop drawings
- 8Coordinate integration across electrical architectural structural and civil disciplines
- 9Participate in facility readiness design and construction phase meetings
- 10Oversee secure handling of sensitive project information and adhere to strict access protocols
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited program
- 2Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in facility or infrastructure projects
- 3Proven experience with DoD construction projects military facilities or government contracting
- 4Expertise in mechanical codes standards and practices including ASHRAE UFC DoD and IPC
- 5Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Revit and load calculation software such as Trane Trace HAP
- 6Familiarity with SCIF and SAPF mechanical requirements
- 7Active Professional Engineer license or EIT on track for licensure
- 8Experience with chilled water hot water steam or secure HVAC systems
- 9Background in energy modeling sustainable system design and commissioning TAB and performance verification
- 10Ability to work in high-security environments with strict access controls
- 11Physical capability to lift 50 lbs climb ladders work in confined spaces and travel to various sites
