Mechanical Drafter Designer Revit
Overview
You will own the mechanical layout drafting for a major filtration system project in a new facility, producing build-ready documentation at scale. You will work with engineers and designers to refine complex systems from concept to finished drawings, collaborating in a cubicle office with occasional floor visits. This contract role in Brooklyn Park, MN offers hands-on Revit and SolidWorks work on a high-impact project, with room to grow professionally. You will report directly to the design lead and see your designs realized in real-world installations.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build detailed mechanical layout drawings for filtration systems using Revit and SolidWorks within the first 90 days.
- 2Develop 3D models and mechanical designs for the new facility's filtration system.
- 3Produce fabrication drawings, structural drawings, and assembly blueprints that are accurate and build-ready.
- 4Interpret engineering concepts and translate them into clear mechanical drafting and design documentation.
- 5Collaborate with engineers and other designers to refine layouts and ensure alignment with project standards.
- 6Update and revise drawings and models based on feedback, design changes, and field conditions.
- 7Ensure all drafting work complies with relevant codes, standards, and internal design practices.
- 8Organize and maintain drawing files to support project tracking and future reference.
- 9Visit the production or facility floor to review designs, gather information, and verify layout feasibility.
Requirements9
- 13+ years in layout drafting with Revit.
- 23+ years in mechanical drafting for industrial or mechanical systems.
- 3Hands-on experience with 3D modeling and mechanical design.
- 4Ability to create and interpret fabrication drawings, structural drawings, and blueprints.
- 5Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and other mechanical drafting software.
- 6Solid understanding of mechanical structures and components used in industrial systems.
- 7Ability to work independently as a self-starter with minimal supervision.
- 8Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawings and documentation.
- 9Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical design, drafting, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
