Marketing Specialist, Social Media & Events
Overview
You own social media management and domestic event planning for Forward Air, a leading transportation and logistics company. You create content, manage channels, and execute trade shows and conferences that drive brand awareness and lead generation. Collaborating with marketing, sales, and leadership, you build a consistent brand presence across digital and in-person touchpoints. This role offers hands-on ownership of both social strategy and event logistics, with direct impact on business growth.
What You'll Do10
- 1Develop and execute social media strategies that support brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation, using LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
- 2Create engaging content including written copy, graphics in partnership with the creative team, short-form video, and multimedia assets tailored to platform-specific audiences.
- 3Build and manage the social media content calendar with Sprout Social or Hootsuite, scheduling and publishing posts, and coordinating campaigns.
- 4Monitor platform performance with Google Analytics and native insights, analyzing engagement metrics and delivering monthly reports.
- 5Manage community engagement by responding to comments and messages in a timely, brand-consistent manner.
- 6Plan and execute domestic trade shows and conferences, coordinating booth design, vendor relationships, shipping, and on-site logistics.
- 7Source and manage promotional merchandise and branded collateral, ensuring inventory and budget compliance.
- 8Coordinate pre-event and post-event marketing campaigns to maximize attendance and lead capture, using Salesforce and Marketo.
- 9Track event performance and ROI, partnering with sales teams to ensure effective follow-up and reporting.
- 10Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, leadership, and external vendors to strengthen brand visibility and support business initiatives.
Requirements10
- 13+ years of experience in social media management and event marketing, with hands-on execution of trade shows and conferences.
- 2Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- 3Strong content creation skills across written, visual, and video formats, adapting messaging to different audiences and platforms.
- 4Proficiency with social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), scheduling tools, and analytics platforms.
- 5Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools such as Salesforce, Marketo, or LinkedIn Campaign Manager preferred.
- 6Excellent organizational and project management skills, managing multiple deadlines and vendors simultaneously.
- 7Strong written and verbal communication skills, maintaining brand consistency and professionalism.
- 8Ability to travel domestically as needed to support events and conferences.
- 9Experience in logistics, transportation, freight, or supply chain industries preferred.
- 10Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web conferencing tools (Teams, Zoom, Webex).
