Manufacturing Technician, Semiconductor Equipment & Electronics Troubleshooting
Overview
Own hands-on electro-mechanical testing and troubleshooting at a leading ion implanter manufacturer in Austin on a contract basis. Work on design circuitry, prototype models, and system level issues across electrical and mechanical subsystems. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support NPI installations, field upgrades, and process validation. This role offers weekend or day swing shifts with differential pay and potential longer-term contract opportunities.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems using schematics and test fixtures to validate design intent
- 2Design circuitry and prototype models for evaluation and qualification of electronics modules
- 3Diagnose system level and component level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems and implement fixes
- 4Perform testing, checkout, modification, and assembly of electronics and electro-mechanical assemblies for production and NPI
- 5Support new system and field upgrade installations and document procedures and outcomes
- 6Generate Quality Notifications and maintain test logs and procedures
- 7Assist in rework activities resulting from testing and defect investigations
- 8Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to stay aligned with process changes and documentation
- 9Operate specialized test equipment ensuring adherence to specifications and safety standards
- 10Contribute to process improvements and learning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Requirements10
- 12+ years of experience in testing and troubleshooting electronics and electro-mechanical systems
- 2Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
- 3Experience with circuit design and prototype modeling
- 4Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum testing and related equipment
- 5Comfort with performing rework and documenting results
- 6Willingness to work weekend, day, swing shifts and differential pay eligibility
- 7Excellent written communication for logbooks and test procedures
- 8Ability to follow schematics and written verbal descriptions to perform testing and troubleshooting
- 9Experience supporting NPI installations and field upgrades
- 10Attention to safety, quality, and adherence to manufacturing documentation
