Overview

You will own rapid prototyping and low-volume assembly of automotive hardware in Fremont, CA, working directly with engineers to bring first-of-its-kind designs to life. Unlike high-volume factories, you'll handle early prototypes and short-run production, using tools like soldering irons and oscilloscopes to test and troubleshoot. You'll serve as a Quality Delegate, performing peer inspections and shaping manufacturing processes. This contract role offers hands-on impact on future transportation technology.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Assemble and test electronic hardware from early prototypes to short-run production, using soldering irons, crimpers, and torque tools.
  • 2Collaborate with engineers to refine assembly techniques and resolve design issues, directly improving manufacturing processes.
  • 3Perform final product testing and troubleshooting with power supplies, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • 4Act as a Quality Delegate, inspecting peer work in the Engineering Lab to ensure precision.
  • 5Maintain detailed documentation and communicate progress with cross-functional teams.
  • 6Keep the lab pristine and organized, following strict safety protocols.

Requirements7

  • 1AS Degree with 1+ year of experience, or 3+ years in electro-mechanical assembly.
  • 2Proven experience with soldering and pin insertion/removal tools.
  • 3Ability to read complex technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • 4Proficiency with oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power supplies.
  • 5Knowledge of or certification in IPC-610, IPC-620, or J-STD-001 preferred.
  • 6Proficient with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets) and data entry.
  • 7Self-starter mentality with minimal supervision.
