Maitre d' Job, Las Vegas Luxury Restaurant Host Management
Overview
You own the guest journey from door to table at Yardbird Las Vegas, a high-volume upscale restaurant. You manage the host team, reservation flow, and lounge and speakeasy sales while coordinating with chefs, managers, and the front-of-house team. This role stands out for its scope: you constantly train host staff, influence hiring, and directly shape guest satisfaction scores. You report to the general manager and act as the face of the restaurant.
What You'll Do10
- 1Welcome every guest at the door with a positive, gracious demeanor.
- 2Manage daily reservations and pre-assign seating to maximize capacity.
- 3Communicate special requests, cake orders, and VIP needs to management.
- 4Coordinate with kitchen and management to ensure smooth service flow.
- 5Resolve guest complaints on the spot to ensure satisfaction.
- 6Train current and new host staff on service standards and procedures.
- 7Oversee lounge seating and table sales, plus Speakeasy RSVPs and table sales.
- 8Assist in communicating manpower needs and hiring of incoming hosts.
- 9Maintain cleanliness and counts of menus and inform management about reprints.
- 10Shut down podium and forward phones to voice-loop at end of shift.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of hospitality sales and management experience.
- 23+ years as a host person in a high-volume and/or upscale dining environment (preferred).
- 3Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- 4Critical thinking and decision-making skills to handle pressure with tact.
- 5Flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and off-hours.
- 6Professional and polished appearance and demeanor.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- 8Previous experience in a similar resort setting (preferred).
