Mail Clerk, US Postal & Package Handling
Overview
You will own mail and package operations for a federal AbilityOne contract, processing 5,000+ items daily with postage metering machines and MS Office software. You will coordinate with departments to ensure accurate distribution and maintain logs per US Postal regulations. What You'll Do7
- 1Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages, applying US Postal regulations and requirements.
- 2Sort mail by destination and type, including returned letters, adjustments, bills, orders, and payments.
- 3Distribute mail to individuals or departments, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
- 4Weigh, stamp, and arrange outgoing mail and packages, operating postage metering machines.
- 5Re-address undeliverable mail bearing incomplete or incorrect addresses.
- 6Maintain records and logs of receipt, mailing dates, and other required information in MS Office.
- 7Meet established standards of quality and productivity with or without supervision.
Requirements7
- 1HS/GED diploma or equivalent.
- 21+ year experience in mailroom operations or related field.
- 3Knowledge of US Postal regulations for incoming, outgoing, certified, registered, and express mail.
- 4Ability to operate postage metering machines and MS Office software.
- 5Excellent multi-tasking and time-management skills to prioritize tasks.
- 6Ability to lift, push, pull, and move items up to 35 pounds.
- 7Reliable transportation for occasional travel.
