What You'll Do9

  • 1Lead a crew of technicians on site, assigning tasks and verifying quality.
  • 2Pull and route Category 5 and Category 6 cabling in new construction and existing commercial structures.
  • 3Terminate data jacks and fiber optic connectors, then test with Fluke equipment.
  • 4Install support structures: cable trays, ladder racks, and J-hooks.
  • 5Build out MDF and IDF closets, including rack installation and cable management.
  • 6Read blueprints and communicate layout changes to the crew.
  • 7Troubleshoot connectivity issues and re-terminate as needed.
  • 8Follow BICSI, TIA, and EIA standards for all installations.
  • 9Work from boom and scissor lifts to access overhead pathways.

Requirements10

  • 15+ years installing and servicing voice and data systems in commercial environments.
  • 2Hands-on experience with twisted pair, coax, Category 5, Category 6, and fiber optic cabling.
  • 3Own your tools: punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, hard hat, safety glasses, and boots.
  • 4Proven ability to lead a crew and manage daily tasks.
  • 5Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • 6Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC standards.
  • 7Prior hospital or healthcare cabling experience is a plus.
  • 8BICSI certification (current or past) is a plus.
  • 9Experience with MDF/IDF buildouts and rack installation.
  • 10Comfortable working on lifts at heights up to 20 feet.
