Lot Driver, ADESA Hoffman Estates & Vehicle Transport
Overview
Lead mover and steward of vehicle flow across auctions at a large daily operation. Own safe transport, staging, and parking of cars to support auction throughput at scale. Collaborate with Lot Manager and team to ensure orderly lanes and on-time movements. This role emphasizes dependable driving, attention to detail, and customer interaction.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and move vehicles to designated lots and lanes observing auction rules
- 2Designate and verify VINs against transportation requests for accurate pickups and deliveries
- 3Lead pre-move walk-arounds to identify damage and communicate findings to the team
- 4Drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale days and ensure proper order in lots
- 5Ship vehicles by inflating tires, jump-starting when needed, and refueling as required
- 6Own customer interactions with dealers, account reps, and co-workers in a courteous manner
- 7Debug and resolve basic vehicle handling issues and report any safety concerns
- 8Drive safely in various weather conditions and follow defensive driving principles
- 9Scale vehicle flow by coordinating with Lot Manager to optimize lot layout and timing
- 10Maintain accurate records and comply with background check and licensing requirements
Requirements10
- 1Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- 2Must possess a valid driver8s license and a clean driving record
- 3Basic computer skills are required
- 4Ability to work outdoors under any type of weather conditions
- 5Legal right to work in the United States and pass background check
- 6High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- 7Ability to read, write, and understand English
- 8Physical ability to perform light to medium physical work including standing, walking, and occasional lifting
- 9Comfort with public interacting and assisting customers and coworkers
- 10Commitment to safety procedures and adherence to company policies
