Overview
High‑visibility in‑house legal role managing all litigation matters for a leading construction organization. The candidate will lead mediation arbitration settlement negotiations and oversee outside counsel while ensuring compliance with state laws and industry standards.
What You'll Do11
- 1Review draft and negotiate construction related agreements such as owner contracts subcontracts and vendor agreements
- 2Provide risk based legal guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual obligations and risk allocation
- 3Ensure contract compliance with company standards applicable laws and insurance requirements
- 4Advise on legal issues throughout construction phases including bidding execution and closeout
- 5Guide change order disputes delay claims and potential risk exposures
- 6Represent or oversee litigation arbitration and bond insurance claims
- 7Initiate and defend collection actions
- 8Coordinate outside counsel and support business plan development
- 9Advise CEO and Board on legal matters affecting projects and operations
- 10Assist Corporate Counsel with governance HR and compliance
- 11Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee well being
Requirements6
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in Maryland
- 310 years of legal experience including 5+ years in commercial contracting or construction
- 4Strong background in mediation arbitration and trial work
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- 6Ability to lead influence and enforce corporate policies and procedures
